NV5 is seeking a passionate Assistant Engineer for our San Diego Water/Wastewater Practice, whichfocuses on the planning and design of water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Work within a team of highly experienced and creative engineers to problem solve, analyze, and evaluate projects from planning through construction.
• Assist with the planning and design of challenging drinking water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure, including preparing Preliminary Engineering Reports, Plans, Specifications and Estimates for:
  • Drinking water infrastructure: wells, storage tanks, pipelines, pump stations, pressure reducing stations, and water treatment facilities.
  • Wastewater infrastructure: wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and pipelines.
  • Recycled water infrastructure: storage tanks, pipelines, pump stations, and pressure reducing stations.
  • Assist project engineers with other project tasks, such as:
    • Analyzing and evaluating hydraulic calculations and hydraulic models.
    • Performing research and field investigations.
    • Analyzing and formulating technical documents and reports.
    • Coordinate with other disciplines for project development, including geotechnical engineering, land surveying, electrical engineering, and structural engineering.
    • Occasional field visits and inspections to assess infrastructure deficiencies, project progress, and problem solve issues. Qualifications
      • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and/or Master of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering with concentration in water/wastewater
      • 2-3 years of progressive relative water/wastewater infrastructure design experience
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Innovyze InfoSewer/InfoWater, and ArcGIS
      • Understanding of hydraulics and pipe networks
      • Passionate about water/wastewater
      • Participation in professional societies (e.g. American Society of Civil Engineers, Water for People, Engineers Without Borders, etc.) Certifications/Licenses:
        • Possession of Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
        • Desire to obtain a California PE license The pay range for this California position is $33.65 - $40.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
